The meticulous attention that Otto put into designing and building your dollhouse is such a tender manifestation of his love for you and your sister, right down to the foil mirror (I believe he was treasuring your faces when he came up with that idea). It's also emblematic of his determination to make joy out of what's at hand. Thank you for injecting his life-loving spirit into our day with your writing.

I love dollhouses! I have five. My grandpa made the big Victorian for me before he and grandma left Bartlett, IL to retire in Florida. It was so important to make it for me. After lugging that thing around for over 40 years, I hope to fix it up and leave it for one of my grandkids. It’s five feet tall and three feet wide. Three stories tall with an attic. I have all the furniture, mostly I made. Thank you for your wonderful story.
