My mom had a Shirley Temple doll too that we marveled at as kids because it seemed to have real teeth and a tongue (an open mouth if you will) something our early 1960’s plastic dolls never had. I’m intrigued by the “haunted doll” statement and would love to know more about that!!!

Hi, thank you for leaving a comment! The doll always sat in my mother‘s bedroom throughout our childhood and beyond, and my sister swore the eyes followed her as she crossed the room. My daughter says she gives her the creeps! They both think she is haunted! I have never felt this way about her! I have always thought she was beautiful and loving Shirley Temple as a little girl I, like my mom, saw her as a representation of my dreams to be on stage.😊

What a beautiful story! I could see your mom doing the Shirley Temple Little Colonel stair tap dance routine (re-imagined). And I love that you, your sister and daughter, honor your mother's memory by taking care of her Shirley Temple doll and all she represents. (I wouldn't doubt that she is haunted, but hopefully in a good way!)
