Makes me choke up. So tender. My husband and I have begun listening to these over breakfast, an antidote to the news.

Tender is such a good word. But wait, how do you *listen* to the stories?

There's a little arrow at the top right of the post and a Siri-like voice reads it aloud.

Apparently it’s only available on some publications and it’s not something you can activate yourself. It’s in the branding section of the publication settings.

Love this-such a humble and important artifact, the spoon. Dutch came across so well in this piece.

A wonderful tribute to the special, often less complicated relationships we have with our grandparents. Very sweet.

As someone who has kept so many kitchen implements from folks I've loved and lost over the years, I just love this story, and this spoon. And you've encouraged me to use those items on a daily basis! Thank you for sharing this beautiful story. Dutch was the best.

Wow! Vivid imagery. I was sliding across the front seat of Dutch's cruiser with you...all the way through to the end of your story.

Luv a good ol fashioned moniker - “Dutch” ! The telling of your BFF Dutch is a sweet remembrance. Funny the way a spoon is a utensil which fills us, and you keeping his spoon fills your heart. Kinda neat how that works!

Of course this piece was focused, but if we were free to talk about it, I could tell stories all night long of memories of my grandfather.

I love the details of the cruiser, eating in the cell, saving you from mashed potatoes. Heart breaking that you lost him when you were so young. 🙏🏼
