I love that you refer to your keepsake as a music box. I’m holding back tears, not very successfully 😢. Your story warms my heart and now I want one of those music boxes. Thank you for sharing your sweet story.

What an wonderful memory of your Dad. Here in tears. So many friends lost their parents to this awful disease without this kind of "gift". Thank you for sharing!

It is an awful disease, but we had some sweet moments that I will always treasure. I write about it, so others won’t feel so alone in their journey.

Yes, music is a wonderful way to reach back in the recesses of an Alzheimer’s patient’s mind.

Music seems to be the way we connect with each other so deeply and I've read it is often the thing people with dementia can hold on to. Thank you for sharing this story about a soul connection across a lifetime. (I had a student named Drobnick from your area who also wrote beautifully!)

Yes, it was a beautiful way to connect with Dad. Drobnick is an unusual name, I’m probably related! 😊

If you are related, say hi for me (Judith Raiskin). They were in college here 7-8 years ago…

Nope, can't think of who that would be! Perhaps a long-lost cousin! 😊
