This Keepthings will stay in my memory bank forever. The photos filled with love, the cash register, both empty and full, and the love between you and your dad are imprinted on my heart. Your story defines life so well - gain, loss, change, stability, joy and sorrow. Thank you.
He loved to waterski barefoot! A tender portrait by a loving daughter. The cash register as a keepthing of those early memories of your father at work resonated with me. Especially the photograph! My dad had the cash register from the furniture store which had been his father's and eventually closed. My brother-in-law restored it to its former glory, now its shiny brass is on display in their basement. https://jillswenson.substack.com/p/a-chair-a-clock-and-a-cash-register
Aww. Dads. Daughters. Great stories of him should be held close like you have here with this memory. I love a cash register too. My aunt had an old adding machine. I loved that thing -- there was something about pushing the buttons that is so satisfying......thanks for sharing this story with this reader.
Oh my goodness in that picture you can just see the love he had for you. I can tell he’s someone who walked on the sunny side. How blessed you are to have such wonderful memories ❤️!
