This was Molly’s everyday sweater. She was wearing it the day we had to put her down. I’ve kept the sweater I was wearing that day, too, and a few other holy things. Her stuffed candy corn toy. (Go get your corn!) The bit of fur I snipped off her when I knew the endwas near. For 19 years she was my little white mutt, the consummate wingwoman. She slept under the covers and loved Parmesan cheese.
Here’s the slightly crazy part. I have no sense of smell; I actually literally cannot smell. But I keep the sweater in a Ziploc because I know it must have so much essence of Molly and I don't want that smell to ever disappear.
